EDH Burn + strength and conditioning
HYROX training in El Dorado Hills
EDH Burn builds the engine. Strength and conditioning builds the stations. A coach ties it together.
EDHFIT trains HYROX athletes in El Dorado Hills with two coached programs: EDH Burn, a structured running, rowing and engine program (Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:00pm and Sunday at 8:00am), and strength and conditioning classes six days a week for the strength stations. Members also get 24/7 access to practice on their own. Your first class is free.
What HYROX asks of your body
A HYROX race is eight 1 km runs (8 km in total), each followed by one workout station, in a fixed order: SkiErg 1,000 m, sled push 50 m, sled pull 50 m, burpee broad jumps 80 m, row 1,000 m, farmers carry 200 m, sandbag lunges 100 m and 100 wall balls. Weights vary by division (see the official HYROX race format).
The takeaway: it's a running race with strength interruptions. Your aerobic engine decides most of your finishing time, and the stations punish weak legs, grip and core.
How EDHFIT trains you for it
EDH Burn builds the engine
Our EDH Burn endurance program is structured aerobic base work, interval and zone training, running mechanics, rowing mechanics and mixed-modal engine pieces. Easy days are easy, hard days are hard, and a coach tracks your progress.
Strength and conditioning builds the stations
Squats, deadlifts and presses build the leg and hip strength the sleds and lunges demand. Kettlebell carries build grip. Conditioning pieces teach you to keep moving while you're breathing hard. That's the core of our strength and conditioning classes.
24/7 access for practice
Members can train outside class times with a keypad code for extra runs, rows or practice. More on 24-hour member access.
We don't run a separate HYROX-branded class. We coach the two things the race actually tests.

Yes. Every interval, distance and pace in EDH Burn scales to your current fitness, and first-timers get extra attention. If you're the person who wants to stop gassing out halfway through anything hard, this is built for you. Racing doubles or a relay? Bring your partner and train together at the Saturday partner workout.
EDHFIT or Orangetheory for HYROX? An honest comparison
Orangetheory's El Dorado Hills studio in Town Center markets itself as a HYROX studio, with coach-led sessions designed around the eight HYROX movements and heart-rate-based intervals. EDHFIT is a dedicated coached endurance program with running and rowing mechanics, zone-based intervals and aerobic base work, plus coached barbell strength classes and 24/7 member access. Both are good options; they're built differently.

HYROX training FAQ
Does EDHFIT have a HYROX class?
EDHFIT trains HYROX athletes with EDH Burn, a coached running, rowing and engine program, plus strength and conditioning classes for the race stations. There isn’t a separate HYROX-branded class; your coach combines the two into a race-prep plan.
When is EDH Burn?
EDH Burn runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:00pm and Sunday at 8:00am. Strength and conditioning classes run Monday to Friday at 5, 6 and 9am and 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30pm, plus Saturday at 8am.
Can a beginner train for their first HYROX at EDHFIT?
Yes. Every interval, distance and pace in EDH Burn scales to your current fitness, and strength classes are scaled the same way. First-timers get extra coaching attention.
Do I have to do both EDH Burn and strength classes?
No. EDH Burn stands on its own. For HYROX, most people do best mixing both, because the race is 8 km of running broken up by strength stations. A coach can help you choose the mix at your free first class.
How is EDHFIT different from Orangetheory for HYROX prep?
Orangetheory’s El Dorado Hills studio runs HYROX-themed, heart-rate-based interval classes. EDHFIT coaches running and rowing mechanics in EDH Burn, builds strength in coached barbell classes, and gives members 24/7 access to practice. Choose the format that fits how you like to train.
